Providing Help and Hope to Animals in Need...
Following the brutal torture of a horse named Northstar, the Northstar Equine Foundation was formed to provide financial and physical assistance to critically abused, neglected and/or injured animals and to become a catalyst to strengthen the animal cruelty laws in Pennsylvania.  We are a volunteer run organization and donations to our organization are tax-deductible, ID #46-0876636.

Miss Hottie

This is Miss Hottie, a 4 month old Quarter Horse filly that was brutally attacked in her Alabama pasture by an unknown assailant. Miss Hottie was struck in the face and body with a sharp, heavy instrument - such as an axe or a sling blade. Her little skull was split open, severing her optic nerve and breaking her jaw.

Miss Hottie was transported to Auburn University, where she underwent a daunting 3 hour procedure to repair her face. The surgery was successful and her prognosis is good, however her eye could not be saved.

The bill at Auburn for the ER visit, surgery and medication is over $4300. Hottie has been released from Auburn to the care of her home vet. Dr. Crum will be visiting Hottie tomorrow so we should get a better handle on what she will need financially (and otherwise.)  Please help us get Hottie's vet bills paid by visiting:
