The Northstar Equine Foundation was formed following the horrific torture of a 6 year old Paint horse gelding named "Northstar". Sometime during the weekend of August 25th, 2012, unknown suspect(s) entered his pasture and doused him with a flammable substance. Then, they set Northstar on fire. Northstar requires extensive medical treatment at Ohio State University and will need ongoing rehabilitative services.

In honor of this brave horse, the Northstar Equine Foundation was formed with a dual purpose: to aid and serve critically injured animals and to become a catalyst to change the animal cruelty laws in Pennsylvania.

~No animal with a good prognosis should be euthanized solely because of finances.~

Animal Cruelty in Pennsylvania is currently a summary offense (like a parking ticket.)

House Bill 760, is legislation that strengthens animal cruelty laws in Pennsylvania. The bill is currently at the Judiciary Committee pending vote to the House for consideration.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO GET THIS LEGISLATION PASSED IN TO LAW!

Please call or write to all of the PA Judiciary Committee members listed on the link below and simply ask them to “Please vote HB 760 out of Committee and onto the House floor as soon as possible.”
